Show Me Your Number and Dumakahle using the power of music to eradicate stigma and discrimination in support of People Living with HIV Johannesburg, Monday, 05 October 2020 Show Me Your Number has forged a new partnership with Dumakahle Entertainment in the response to eradicate stigma and discrimination by strengthening voices of Key Populations at district level. Mpilo Seluleko Nkosi, CEO of Dumakahle, Maskandi Producer and song writer of the master piece “Angimazi ubaba Wengane” was approached by IPO Support Officer Siphamandla ‘Desh’ Dlhamini as our Human Rights Ambassadors to use the power of music to educated communities on HIV and TB prevention, testing and screening as well as adherence to treatment. Dumakahle Entertainment and Show Me Your Number together against Stigma and Discriminations We conducted Human Rights Toolkit Workshop in KZN and many of the participants highlighted that we are not addressing culture as a barrier to access to health care services. The key recommendation was that cultural leaders need to be engaged to drive this agenda. So the partnership could not have come at a better time. As Show Me Your Number we believe in the power of the arts in addressing behavior change in our communities. We have seen the power influencers in the call for Male Medical Circumcision and know that this is the best approach in addressing cultural barriers in the promotion of Human Rights for People Living with HIV and People Living with TB. SMYN is a member of the SANAC Civil Society Forum (CSF) advisory body by the South African National AIDS Council to facilitate the participation of Civil Society Organisations and networks, including those representing People Living with HIV, in the HIV and AIDS and TB within the National HIV response and for the implementations thereof National Strategic Plan (NSP) 2012-2016 through Sectors. In 2016, Show Me Your Number NPC registered a wholly owned private company named SMYN (Pty) LTD as a commercial entity through which it provides consulting services and other related services. The main aim of this private company is to source commercial projects through which the work of Show Me Your Number NPC will be supported (funded).
